Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your business is to stop trying.

What do I mean by that? I have always said “no zero days”. Never quit or give up.

What I mean is that if you are stagnating with what you are doing, you aren’t seeing any growth or progress, stop what you are doing and do an evaluation. Ask yourself, what are you struggling with and why? If you are a writer are you writing? If the answer is no then you need to find out why. If you are lacking motivation, then the issue is inside yourself because, you do not find motivation externally. You do something, you see the progress and that motivates you. It comes from within yourself.

External factors, significant other, children, new home, quit job, these are not motivation providers, these are goals. Learn the difference and treat each appropriately and see what a difference it makes in your business. Motivate yourself not by taking action but, taking the right action.

Don’t get stuck in a rut and miss the growth that can come from changing things up. I reached a point that I wasn’t even able to write a single email or post for my Facebook group. I stopped everything, I had things to deal with so I didn’t work on my business for a while but, when I started again, I started doing the same things and couldn’t accomplish a damn thing. I have written most of my life but, when I sat down at my keyboard, my mind was blank. No ideas on what to write, two partially done projects that I couldn’t focus on, nothing. Why would I have so much trouble? I had gone as far as I could in the direction I was heading. I stepped back and looked at everything. My experience, my knowledge, my goals, I mean everything.

Like a semi going up a steep hill, time to downshift, time to take a right turn and change direction. I changed my business model. I went from struggling to figure out how to do things to clearing my head and getting a focus on doing one thing. I went from wanting my name on a lot of successful products to creating PLR. I am now building a new list, posting in my group regularly, writing emails, blogging more and making progress on writing a book that I haven’t been able to do anything with. I have also gained a partner to work with to create and launch a series of PLR products all because I stopped everything and took a long look at all of it.

By stopping and changing direction, I am again making progress and moving forward.

Don’t let pride stand in your way of success.

Good common sense David but that is something we often forget about so thank you for the reminder.

It is all about providing information to help. How many struggle trying to get anything going and all they need to do is change one or two things?

this happens to me sometimes. i resort to the ready, fire, aim tactic to get rolling again and then reflect later.

Really needed this, David. Definitely, something we often overlook especially in the area of online business.

It was something that took me a while to realize.
